This is not one of those times..
The sixteenth century’s cultural upheaval and plagues gave us Hieronymus Bosch. The horrors of the Inquisition and the Napoleonic invasion gave us Goya’s unflinching, surrealist works. The art world’s total rejection of the civilization that inflicted the First World War on them gave us Surrealism. 1950’s and 60’s commercialism gave us the intentional irony of Warhol & Lichtenstein. But all the ZeroCOVID era gave us was – Alegria.
